此片之前凯瑟琳·赫本已经沦为票房毒药，经过思考她买断与雷电华电影签订的合约离开好莱坞，取得《费城故事》的电影改编版权后以由她主演等条件转让给米高梅。电影《费城故事》的大卖令她回复好莱坞一线女星地位并第三次获奥斯卡最佳女主角奖提名，詹姆斯·斯图尔特也因该片拿下生命中唯一的奥斯卡奖。
本片由大获成功的舞台剧改变而来，里面对话密集而且有大量俚语/隐喻，字幕翻译难度极大，期待更好的字幕。
赫本以极其重视隐私闻名，演艺生涯的大部分时期都拒绝采访，也不与影迷交谈。随着年龄的增长，她保护隐私的强硬程度慢慢放松，CC此版本收录其在1973年首度接受《迪克·卡维特秀》（The Dick Cavett Show）长达两小时的采访。

◎简 介
费城的富家千金Tracy Samantha（凯瑟琳·赫本 Katharine Hepburn饰）和丈夫C. K. Dexter Haven（加里·格兰特 Cary Grant饰）离婚了。最近，她准备嫁给一个德高望重的人George Kittredge（John Howard饰）。为了报道这场盛大的婚礼，SPY杂志的记者Macaulay "Mike" Connor (詹姆斯·斯图尔特 James Stewart饰）和摄影师Liz Imbrie（露丝·赫希 Ruth Hussey饰）费尽心思混入Tracy家中。此时，Dexter也来到了Tracy家中要来参加她的婚礼，受到了Tracy妹妹的极大欢迎。在相处中，Tracy也和记者Mike发生了不同寻常的情愫。她发现自己处在三个男人之间，这场婚礼也陷入了悬念。到底Tracy最后到底会嫁给谁，是她的未婚夫，是她的前夫，还是那名记者呢？
